Food handler training is required for anyone preparing food for the public in Gilmer County. Approved Food Handler Trainings include*:



Gilmer County Online Food Handler Training by the TAP Series

County & State cards available. County cards are $19.95, state cards are $29.95. Both have a 3 year expiration date.



Gilmer County In-Person Food Handler Training

County, State, & Volunteer cards available. Classes held the 1st Thursday of each month at 11 am. County cards are $10.00, state cards are $20.00. Both have a 3 year expiration date. Call/text 304-462-9234 or click below to register no later than 4 pm the day before class. Off-site/afterhours classes available upon request.



Gilmer County Online Volunteer Food Safety Training

Free online Disaster Relief Food Safety Training accepted for non-profits during emergency and non-emergency times. Not approved in for-profit establishments. Volunteer certificate available online. Wallet cards available in office when you bring in your certificate or take in-person training.




*Statewide Food Handler cards and Certified Food Protection Manager certificates from approved vendors are accepted in place of County Food Handler Cards.
